You do not need a doctor’s referral to attend and can self-refer at any time.
Some children may be eligible for partial Medicare rebates in which case a GP referral is required. Referrals are also welcome from Doctors should they have relevant medical and/or developmental information to share with your consent about your child or wish to collaborate in service planning to assist your child.
-
The length of the appointment depends on your child’s age and the purpose of the appointment.
An assessment session takes approximately 60-90 minutes, including time for discussion of findings and general recommendations.
Therapy sessions are 45 minutes in length.
Cathy also allocates time outside of the face-to-face appointment time for other client related activities.
-
This really depends on the nature of the problem and the level of concern. Cathy will discuss this with you and make recommendations once she knows you and your child better. Some children attend therapy each week for a set period of time. Others attend less frequently and complete programmes at home to ensure that they continue to progress.
-
You will receive an email reminder 48 hours before your appointment. If you do not attend the appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged the full session fee.
Note: you cannot claim rebates from Medicare or private health funds for a cancellation fee.
-
Yes. Cathy will issue you with a receipt after payment has been made and you can make a claim directly with your health fund.
The amount of rebate you will receive depends on the type and level of private health cover. Contact your health fund to determine your eligibility.
